Why work at Better Health Osteopathy?

Because the right clinic changes everything. We're built for osteopaths who want to do their best work, in a close-knit team that mentors, collaborates, and holds itself to a high standard.

  • Based in New Zealand
  • Relocating from overseas
  • Both welcome

Why osteopaths choose Better Health Osteopathy

We built BHO around one belief: osteopaths thrive when the clinical environment is right. Here is what that looks like.

Structured mentorship

Weekly mentoring, case discussions, and ongoing feedback to help you grow into a confident, capable clinician.

A supportive team

Work alongside friendly, approachable, and experienced osteopaths who genuinely enjoy collaborating, sharing knowledge, and helping each other succeed.

High clinical standards

Learn a structured approach to assessment, clinical reasoning, and patient communication that focuses on long-term patient outcomes, not just symptom relief.

Build your caseload

Develop the communication, clinical, and business skills needed to build a thriving patient list and a long-term career.

Work-life balance

Flexible scheduling, protected mentoring time, and a culture that values both professional excellence and personal wellbeing.

Career development

Whether your goal is becoming an exceptional clinician, developing specialist interests, or taking on leadership responsibilities, we'll help you get there.

Exceptional care starts with exceptional clinical reasoning

We don't simply treat where it hurts. We take the time to understand the whole person, identify what's driving their symptoms, and create a plan focused on lasting recovery. This is the framework that guides every assessment, treatment plan, and patient conversation.

  • The person

Understand the individual, their goals, and what matters to them.

  • The problem

Identify how the condition is affecting their life.

  • Contributing factors

    Determine why the problem developed.

  • Barriers to recovery

    Recognise what's preventing progress.

  • Opportunities for better health

Help patients build resilience and reduce future problems.

Meet Lorraine Herity

Founder & Principal Osteopath

Lorraine Herity, Founder and Principal Osteopath at Better Health Osteopathy

Lorraine Herity graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in London before gaining valuable clinical experience in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Over the past decade, she has helped thousands of patients recover from injury and return to the activities they love.

For more than four years, Lorraine was a Clinical Supervisor at the Ara Institute of Canterbury Osteopathic Teaching Clinic, where she mentored Osteopathy students as they developed their clinical skills. She has also spent the past decade mentoring graduates and early-career osteopaths within Better Health Osteopathy.

Lorraine is passionate about developing confident, compassionate, and highly skilled clinicians who will continue to strengthen and advance the osteopathic profession with pride.

When I graduated, I quickly realised that university teaches you how to become a safe practitioner, but becoming a great clinician is a journey that continues throughout your entire career.

That understanding has shaped everything I have done since. Starting your career as an osteopath is exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. One day you are surrounded by lecturers, tutors, and classmates. The next, you are making clinical decisions, building patient relationships, and developing your own practice. I remember exactly what that felt like.

That is why Better Health Osteopathy places such a strong emphasis on mentorship, collaboration, and continuous learning. We do not expect our osteopaths to work in isolation. We work together as a team, learn from one another, discuss challenging cases, and support each other to become better clinicians every day.

Our goal is to help you build confidence, strengthen your clinical reasoning, develop exceptional communication skills, and become the very best osteopath you can be. We encourage questions, challenge your thinking, and provide honest feedback, because that is how meaningful growth happens.

If you are looking for more than just a job, and want to be part of a close-knit team that supports one another, challenges each other to grow, and genuinely enjoys coming to work each day, I would love to hear from you.

More than a workplace, a close-knit team

Over the years we've built more than a great team; we've built genuine friendships. We share ideas, discuss challenging cases, learn from one another, and are always willing to lend a hand. Whether you're early-career or experienced, you'll never be expected to do it alone.

Working at Better Health Osteopathy has been great. The team is full of friendly, knowledgeable, and approachable osteopaths who are dedicated to providing the best care for their patients. On top of that, there is a well-organised management team who are always around to help. I have learnt a lot of valuable lessons working for this clinic and can't wait for the team to grow even further.
