Structured care, real outcomes, great people

We built BHO around one belief: that osteopaths thrive when the clinical environment is right. Protected time with patients, a structured 4-phase model that drives real results, genuine peer mentorship, and a team that holds each other to a high standard.

"Moving from the UK was a big decision. BHO made the transition seamless: the mentorship and team culture here is unlike anything I experienced in private practice back home."
Ella Roover-Briggs, UK-trained Osteopath, now based in Christchurch

Not just a job, a clinical home

These are the things that matter to clinicians, local or relocating, when they're deciding where to build their career.

For everyone

Structured 4-phase model

Every patient follows a clear treatment plan, from pain relief through to long-term prevention. You treat with depth and intent, not volume.

For everyone

Real mentorship

Regular clinical reviews, peer case discussions, and direct access to Lorraine. It's the kind of structured support most clinics don't offer, and it's how you keep getting better.

For everyone

Autonomy with support

Treat as a clinician, not a technician. Freedom to bring your expertise within a framework that consistently produces great outcomes.

For everyone

AI-powered admin

We use Heidi, an AI assistant that helps write your clinic notes, treatment plans and referral letters, so you spend less time on paperwork and more time treating.

Great for local hires

Warm patient base

Step into a clinic with a loyal, established patient base built over 10 years. Patients who return, refer, and trust the process.

Especially for international

Relocation done properly

We've done this. OCNZ registration support, visa guidance, flexible start dates, and a team who'll make sure you land well, not just on paper.

We live by HENRI

These are not words on a wall. They are the behavioural standards we hold each other to, whether you've been here three months or three years.

  1. Happy and Healthy

A positive, supportive environment is not a luxury, it is the foundation of excellent clinical care.

  2. Excel

Good enough is not good enough. Every interaction, every plan, every letter reflects our commitment to excellence.

  3. Neighbourly

We are part of our community. Warm, generous, and genuinely invested in the people around us.

  4. Respect

For our patients, our colleagues, and the profession. Respect drives how we communicate and hold each other accountable.

  5. Innovation

The 1% principle: constant, incremental improvement across everything we do. We do not settle for the status quo.

Exceptional clinicians, real people

Our team comes from different backgrounds and different parts of the world. What they share is a standard of care, and a culture of genuine support.

Local or international, we're growing and looking for exceptional clinicians who share our values and our standard.

The pathway to NZ is clearer than you think

If you're already in NZ, skip ahead. If you're considering the move, here's how the process works, and why it's more straightforward than most people assume.

  1. OCNZ registration

Apply to the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand. Most UK and Australia-trained osteopaths meet the requirements directly.

  2. Job offer

A confirmed offer from BHO significantly strengthens your skilled-migrant visa application.

  3. Visa application

Skilled Migrant Category or Straight to Residence visa, we will guide you to the right pathway.

  4. Arrive and start

Flexible start date. We will have you onboarded and seeing patients as quickly as you would like.

Not sure if you qualify? We've helped international osteopaths navigate this process and can connect you with the right advice. Send us an expression of interest and we'll have an honest conversation about your specific situation, no obligation required.

"I started at Better Health Osteopathy 3 weeks ago. Sam, on reception was exceptionally helpful, even calling one of the osteopath's out to answer my questions and putting my mind at ease. Ella, the osteopath assigned to me is amazing. I would totally recommend her and the practice."

"I’ve been seeing Lorraine for several years now and she is nothing short of a miracle worker. No matter what I walk in with - aches, pains or something that just feels “off” - she always knows exactly what to do and somehow gets my body back on track every single time. Beyond her incredible skill and knowledge, Lorraine is an absolute delight. She creates such a warm, welcoming environment and genuinely cares about her clients. You never feel rushed - she takes the time to listen, understand and treat the root of the problem. As both the clinic owner and manager, it’s clear she pours her heart into Better Health Osteopathy and it shows in every aspect of the experience. If you’re looking for someone you can truly trust with your body, Lorraine is the one. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!"

Answers for both local and international applicants

I'm already practising in Christchurch. Why would I move to BHO?

The most common reason clinicians move to BHO from other practices is the clinical environment. Our 4-phase structured model means you treat patients properly, not just until their pain settles. You get real mentorship, peer review, and a patient base that's managed well from day one. If you're currently in a volume-based clinic, or a practice without structure, BHO is a different experience entirely.

I'm in another part of New Zealand. Is relocation support available?

Yes. If you're relocating from elsewhere in New Zealand, we're open to discussing support on a case-by-case basis. Christchurch offers significantly more affordable housing than Auckland and most other main centres, which makes the move financially sensible for many clinicians. Raise it with us early in the conversation.

Do I need to be registered in NZ before applying?

No. You can apply or express interest at any stage. We'll help guide you through the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand (OCNZ) registration process as part of your onboarding pathway. A confirmed offer from BHO significantly strengthens your OCNZ application.

I'm 6-12 months away from being ready to move. Should I make contact now?

Absolutely, and we'd encourage it. Our Expression of Interest pathway is specifically designed for clinicians who are interested but not yet ready to apply formally. We keep an active talent pool and will contact you when the right role and timing aligns. Many of our international hires made contact months before they were ready to move.

What does a typical day look like at BHO?

A full appointment book of patients across our structured 4-phase model: initial consultations, follow-up treatments, and progress reviews. You're doing meaningful clinical work, not just symptom management. Admin is handled by our team so you stay focused on treating. Regular peer clinical reviews and CPD support are built into the schedule.

Do you offer part-time or flexible arrangements?

Yes. Full-time and part-time roles are available across our clinics. We're open to arrangements that work for your situation, particularly if you're navigating relocation, a phased transition, or family commitments. Raise it with us upfront and we'll work around it.
