Website terms of use

The terms that apply when you use this website. Treatment terms are agreed separately at the point of booking and aren't covered here.

1. About these terms

The website is operated by Better Health Osteopathy ("BHO", "we", "us", "our"). These terms cover your use of the website only. They do not cover:

  • The terms of any treatment you receive from us. Those are agreed at booking and at your first visit, and are governed by professional standards under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003, the Privacy Act 2020 and HIPC 2020, and the OCNZ code of conduct.
  • Use of our booking system. Booking is provided through Cliniko, who have their own terms that you agree to when you book.

2. The website is information, not advice

The content on this website is for general information and education only. It is not intended to be, and should not be relied upon as, individual clinical advice. Specifically:

  • Articles, condition pages, and resources describe what we typically see clinically. They cannot replace an individual assessment.
  • The "red flags" lists on condition pages help you identify situations that may need urgent medical attention. They are not exhaustive. If something feels wrong, get checked.
  • Self-care suggestions and home plans on the website are general patterns. What's right for you depends on your specific case.
  • Pricing on the website is indicative; current pricing is shown in the booking system.

For an assessment of your specific case, please book an appointment or talk with your GP or another qualified healthcare provider.

3. Intellectual property

The content of this website, including the writing, layout, graphics, and code, is owned by Better Health Osteopathy or used with permission. You can:

  • Read, browse, and print pages for personal use
  • Share links to specific pages with others
  • Quote short excerpts in your own writing with appropriate attribution

Please do not republish whole pages or substantial portions of the writing without our permission. If you'd like to use our content elsewhere, please email us; we're often happy to discuss it.

4. Third-party links

The website includes links to third-party websites (e.g., professional bodies, legislation, our booking system). We don't control those sites and we're not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or terms. Following an external link is at your own discretion.

5. Bookings made via this website

When you click "Book online" you are taken to our booking system (Cliniko). The booking transaction is between you and BHO via Cliniko's platform. Booking is subject to Cliniko's terms and to our cancellation policy (which is communicated at the time of booking).

6. Privacy

Your privacy is governed by our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. Read it for the details on what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights to access and correct it.

7. Limitations of liability

We try to keep the website accurate, current, and available. We can't guarantee:

  • The website will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • That the information is up-to-date at every moment (medical knowledge evolves)
  • The website will be free from viruses or other harmful elements

To the extent permitted by law, BHO is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the website, including lost time or expense from relying on website content as individual clinical advice. Where the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 applies and cannot be excluded, this clause applies only to the extent the Act permits.

8. Accessibility

We aim to make the website accessible to as many people as possible, in line with WCAG 2.1 AA standards. If you encounter an accessibility issue, please contact us using the details on our contact page so we can address it.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when changes were made. By continuing to use the website after changes are posted, you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law. Any disputes that can't be resolved through our complaints process are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
