The osteopath behind your care

Maddie Wright came to Osteopathy through her own sport. A long-standing indoor cricketer who has represented Australia since 2015 and played at multiple world cups, she knows first-hand how injury interrupts the things you care about, and how good rehabilitation gets you back to them. That experience shapes how she works: a lot of her clinical time goes to helping active people recover from injury and rebuild confidence in their bodies, whether that is returning to sport, getting back to work, keeping up with family life, or simply moving without pain.

Her focus is sporting injuries, spinal pain, headaches and migraines, and shoulder, hip, knee and lower-limb problems, and she treats across the age range, from athletes and active teens to seniors, tradies, and office workers. Her approach combines hands-on osteopathic treatment with practical advice, education, and rehabilitation, so you leave understanding not just what is contributing to your symptoms, but what you can do to recover and stay active. She treats the individual rather than the diagnosis: a plan built around your goals and your lifestyle.

Maddie also works with people living with complex, long-standing pain, including those managing conditions such as fibromyalgia, Parkinson's, or rheumatoid arthritis alongside other health issues. She is honest about what Osteopathy can and cannot do here: these conditions are not something treatment cures, but she can help people stay active, restore some normality, and manage the activities of daily life by looking at the bigger picture. That care is informed by a clinical placement with Sacred Heart Mission, working with people experiencing homelessness, social exclusion, complex trauma, and multiple health conditions. Her Master's research looked at cyclical loading as a way to manage injury risk in female athletes, and she continues to work in sport as team osteopath, travelling with the New Zealand Over 30s Women's Indoor Cricket Team.
